The positive reception to series English for Vietnam continues to grow, with broadened distribution and an increased viewership. The educational series, produced and animated by Trapeze Animation Studios for the Business Alliance for Vietnamese Education (BAVE), is extending its reach in helping Vietnamese audiences learn English.
Composed of 36 x 10 minute episodes, the series follows four main characters whose adventures provide an entertaining and effective avenue for teaching English to viewers. The series was initially slated to air for 18 months on Vietnam’s national broadcaster, VTV. Not only has VTV continued to air the series, English for Vietnam has proven so popular it’s been picked up by Vietnam Cable TV (VCTV). VCTV now broadcasts the show four times a day on Bibi- the country’s most popular kid’s channel.
Now reaching over a million homes in cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the series has also been picked up by 10 provincial stations across the country. In addition, The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training has supplied the complete English For Vietnam series on DVD to 12, 000 middle schools throughout Vietnam. BAVE has also struck a deal to license 18 episodes for re-purposing and distribution in the Indonesian market.
